Adult Education
Problem: The level of poverty and illiteracy in India is frightening!
More than one fourth of the population of one billion is poor,
and 35% is illiterate - although among the poorest that figure is much higher.
This illiteracy is leading to early marriages, over population, poor sanitation, etc.
Literacy is very essential for the economic development
of our country.
Recognizing the need for its improvement, various
Government and non-Government agencies have been working for many years
and have achieved some success. However the teeming millions of rural
India still need substantial help to improve their literacy rate.
Realizing this, SPREAD INTERNATIONAL is determined to implement Adult Education
Centers Activity aggressively in various villages.
Activity Implementation: Upon identifying the need for opening a
center, SPREAD INTERNATIONAL appoints an instructor and provides enough study
material. It motivates the illiterate villagers and helps them succeed
in their efforts. Educating the parents helps in impressing upon
them that they should encourage their children in pursuing education.
